Born two times

Jesus told Nicodemus you must be born again.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

And we are then born of the Spirit of God.

I have repented; I have received Jesus; therefore I have everlasting life! I have born again.

Let me use a simple illustration. I am Paul Potter, whether I feel like it or not. If I am asleep, I do not think about it, yet I am still Paul Potter. Even if I should suffer from a loss of memory, my identity remains the same. My birth certificate states that I am who I am, and that settles it!

So it is with the Word of God. If you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, you have been born into the family of God. You have been “born again.” The Bible is your birth certificate. If you cannot believe that, then you will not know who you are. It is that simple!

You must be born again!
